The Pennsylvania Forestry Association (PFA) is the nation's oldest state timber harvestingorganization devoted to forest conservation. Founded in 1886, it is an association of individuals, landowners, loggers, forest industries, resource professionals and businesses that are concerned about the stewardship of Pennsylvania's forest resources.

The forests are essential to our wildlife, providing through their various stages of growth the food and shelter skiingthat gives us a wonderfully diverse population of animals and birds. They play an important role in keeping our air and water clean. Pennsylvania’s hardwood forests produce some of the finest cherry and red oak logs, sought all over the world for the manufacture of valuable, beautiful veneers and furniture.

The key to successfully meeting these many demands is understanding what good forest management is all about. At the heart of this is education, a primary role of The Pennsylvania Forestry Association.
